Editing the Dollar Amount of an Online Payment

Instructions

1. Log In to CalCentral

2. Click the 'My Finances' menu tab

  • From the CalCentral home page, click the 'My Finances' menu tab

3. Click the 'Make Payment' button

  • Navigate to the 'Billing Summary' section on the 'My Finances' page and click the 'Make Payment' button
  • After clicking the 'Make Payment' button, a new window will open and you will be signed in to the Transact portal

4. Click the 'Make a payment' button

  • From the Transact 'Overview' page, click the 'Make a payment' button to initiate the transaction

5. Click in the 'Amount' box to edit the payment amount

  • How much would you like to pay?
  • From the 'Pay Amount' page, enter the amount you wish to pay
  • Your current Balance amount should automatically be entered in the 'Amount' box
  • To pay less than the Balance amount, click in the 'Amount' box to edit the payment amount
    • Do not pay more than the Balance amount due
    • The Balance amount reflects up-to-date activity on your account
    • Payments are applied to charges in order of due date, beginning with the oldest date first

6. Click the 'Continue' button after entering the amount you wish to pay

7. Select a payment method and click the 'Continue' button

  • How would you like to pay?
  • From the 'Payment Method' page, select a payment method you wish to use and click the 'Continue' button
  • Payment method options are:
    • Credit or Debit Card
      • A non-refundable service fee applies to credit card payments:
        • 2.85% for domestic card payments
        • 4.25% for international card payments
      • The minimum service fee for card transactions over $20 and less than $106 will be $3
    • Bank Account
      • Electronic checks (ACH) that are returned by your bank for any reason are subject to a non-refundable Returned Payment Fee of $25
    • 529 Savings Plan
      • A $10.00 non-refundable convenience fee will apply to electronic 529 payments
    • International Payment

8. Enter the required information for the payment method selected
